Five daily prayers and two Friday congregations led by our esteemed Imams at South London Islamic Centre.
Muslims are required to pray five times a day. The prayers are performed before sunrise, after midday, in the mid-afternoon, just after sunset, and after dark.
At South London Islamic Centre, all five daily prayers are established in congregation, led by our esteemed Imams. Everyone is welcome to join us — whether for a single salah or to make the masjid part of your daily routine.
Daily Salah begin times and congregation (Jama'ah) times. Times change daily with the sun — please check the masjid display for today's timings.
| Prayer | Begins | Jama'ah |
|---|---|---|
| Fajr | 2:51 | 4:10 |
| Dhuhr | 1:09 | 1:30 |
| Asr | 6:40 | 7:30 |
| Maghrib | 9:24 | 9:24 |
| Isha | 10:29 | 10:40 |
A few simple things to know before you join the congregation.
Muslims perform ablution (wudu) — washing before prayer. Facilities are available at the masjid.
Shoes are removed before entering the prayer hall, keeping the space clean for prostration.
Worshippers face the Qiblah — the direction of the Ka'bah in Makkah — to perform their prayers.
Prayers are led by an Imam — a teacher and man of knowledge — who guides the congregation.
Friday is the busiest day at SLIC, with two Jummah congregations led by our esteemed Imams. Around 1,000 worshippers join us on a regular Friday — rising significantly on bank holidays and during the blessed days of Eid.
