A Month of Worship & Community

Ramadan is the most blessed month of the Islamic calendar — a time of fasting, prayer and coming together as a community.

At South London Islamic Centre we welcome the whole community each night for Taraweeh prayers, special Qiyaam programmes in the final ten nights, and a warm Iftaar to break the fast together.

20-rakah Taraweeh is led every night of Ramadan by our main Imams, with opportunities given to our recent Madrasah graduates to lead the congregation.

Qiyaam

Voluntary night prayers are held during the last ten nights of Ramadan, featuring esteemed guest speakers such as Shaikh Ahmad Rageb of Egypt and Shaikh Harun Bukenya of Uganda.

Iftaar

A daily Iftaar of dates and water is provided to break the fast just before the Maghrib prayer, bringing the community together every evening of Ramadan.
